We’re Bbodysmart and our aim is to teach reformer pilates to people, regardless of their age, physicality or fitness ability.

Our Sessions

Our approach to fitness is making it fun, if you want to wave goodbye to the stress of a busy workout environment or long, boring hours spent in a gym we can help.

We offer both personal training reformer sessions and group classes in our beautiful, bespoke reformer pilates studio based in Walshaw, Bury.

    Our Team

    At BBodysmart we have a studio that combines functional training and short sharp effective cardio classes. With the amazing effects of the reformer beds, our aim is to achieve functional, fit, amazing looking bodies without the stress of long boring hours spent in a gym. Our aim is to bring fun to fitness and teach body awareness to the every one. I love my job and I am surrounded by fantastic people. I am so lucky. Let me introduce the team.

    I did dance professionally for a couple of years but then got married and had my first 2 children. I am sure my parents must have thought all that money and time wasted.

    Then in the middle of a massive change in my life a friend asked me to go to Louise Brookes health club, I did 1 step class with Louise and straight after she pulled me to one side and offered me a job, it couldn’t have come at a better time for me. Louise organized all of my training and within a short time I was teaching all my own classes, I loved it. Louise was an amazing mentor and as a club owner she brought in everything new in the fitness industry, we were the first club to bring in body pump and all the rest of the BTS training systems and we were lucky enough to be taught by the guys who first brought it to this country, we were so lucky I loved it all but I was still missing something, then it came, Louise offered to me a Pilates course with Michael King it was it was like going back to my roots. Louise was then bought out by LA Fitness who gave me the opportunity to learn some management skills I was now coordinating the studios and managing staff. Being in that side made me look at the sort of training I had received and the poor training that the kids were getting so I decided to take my assessor qualification and teacher training, I worked for capital sports until I had my third child and then went to teach at north Trafford College.

    Then in 2006 I decided that I wanted my own studio, I took a leaf out of Louise’s book and looked for things that were new and different in the industry, so we started to do boot camps and I bought the first reformer beds to the area. As always I like to keep moving, as does the industry, we now have a studio that combines functional training and short sharp effective cardio classes with the amazing effects of the reformer beds, our aim is to achieve functional, fit, amazing looking bodies without the stress of long boring hours spent in a gym. My aim is to bring fun to fitness and teach body awareness to the every one.

    Lindsay jumped at the chance to do something she really enjoys, getting to pass her enthusiasm onto others.  Lindsay went to college and became a qualified fitness instructor, through Denise’s nurturing she has since qualified as a Personal Trainer. 

    Lindsay loves learning all about nutrition and why different foods affect the body in different ways.  In November 2015 she completed her Diet Specialist Nutrition Course. 

    Lindsay now uses her hobby to help other people and her enthusiasm helps to motivate others to achieve their goals. Lindsay isn’t just passionate about pilates, she also enjoys lots of different forms of exercise such as Spin, Pilates, HIIT and running.

    Leanne discovered Pilates through injury rehabilitation and quickly fell in love. She saw herself transform and get stronger every time she did a class, so after many years Leanne decided to train to teach and share her passion for the Pilates method.

    I initially practised Yoga, as a way to eliminate some of the day to day stresses of working full time, as a financial adviser, whilst recovering from both a physical and mental illness. The health benefits Yoga provided, were invaluable to me, and I began to view the ancient practise as “A Magical Gift.”

    Over 7 years ago, I took redundancy and decided to dedicate my time to learning more about Yoga, so I could then pass on my beneficial experiences to as many people as possible. I took a teacher training course with the YMCA, and level 3 diploma in teachingYoga” qualification.

    I then moved to Spain for 3 years, where I was lucky enough to relax, and teach the locals the gift of yoga on the beach, and privately in their homes. As fantastic as Spain was, my gut instinct was pulling me back to my dream of having my own place here in the UK.

    I began to teach in various gyms and studios – both Hot and non-Hot. I then opened my own Hot Yoga studio. Finding running the business was taking the magic of yoga from me, I recently sold my studio ( preferring to concentrate fully on teaching and self study). I am thrilled to be able to share the gift of yoga with as many people as I can. I truly believe that yoga is for everyone and everyone will benefit from some form of yoga.

    My flow classes are drawn from varying styles of yoga and my students wants and needs. I teach Hatha, Vinyassa flow, Bikram style set class and a rocket style stronger flow class. My approach is fun, quite gentle, but no means easy, allowing all fitness levels and ages to access the many benefits of yoga. My goal is that everyone will enjoy my classes and have fun, whilst still maintaining breathing techniques and alignment and reaping all the magical benefits of Yoga.

    I have been teaching exercise for over 9 years, the first thing I started teaching was spin and Les Mills Body Pump, I then went onto teach more programmes by Les Mills. 2 years ago I decided to go down the route of teaching more holistic style classes…

    2 years ago I decided to go down the route of teaching more holistic style classes and mat Pilates was my first, followed by Yoga both of which are a great passion of mine.

    I have recently qualified in teaching on the reformer which I love as it incorporates a strength element, for a total body workout.
