Why Choose BBodySmart?

Pilates is the ultimate in core training and here at Bbodysmart we offer cost effective, small group sessions as well as personal training reformer sessions in our beautiful, bespoke reformer Pilates studio based in Walshaw, Bury.

Our approach to fitness is making it fun, if you want to wave goodbye to the stress of a busy workout environment or long, boring hours spent in a gym we can help.

No two classes are ever the same and we have a maximum of six people per class to ensure that you receive all the individual attention you need for an effective and fun workout and no one is left behind.

Denise Benson

Owner of BbodySmart Pilates

I have been in the fitness industry for over 25 years. My passion started as a young girl doing ballet and tap and everything else that goes with it. I danced at least 3 times a week, plus competitions at weekend – how my Dad put up with it for all those years I’m not sure!

At BBodySmart we have a studio that combines functional training and short sharp effective cardio classes. With the amazing effects of the reformer beds, our aim is to achieve functional, fit, amazing looking bodies without the stress of long boring hours spent in a gym.

Our aim is to bring fun to fitness and teach body awareness to the every one. I love my job and I am surrounded by fantastic people. I am so lucky. Let me introduce the team.

Lindsay

After joining a gym over 19 years ago, Lindsay has never looked back! Over 5 years ago Denise (the owner of BbodySmart) approached Lindsay to see if she would like to become a fitness instructor. Lindsay jumped at the chance to do something she really enjoys…

Lindsay went to college and became a qualified fitness instructor, through Denise’s nurturing she has since qualified as a Personal Trainer. She loves learning all about nutrition and why different foods affect the body in different ways. In November 2015 she completed her Diet Specialist Nutrition Course.

Lindsay now uses her hobby to help other people and her enthusiasm helps to motivate others to achieve their goals. Lindsay isn’t just passionate about Pilates, she also enjoys lots of different forms of exercise such as Spin, Pilates, HIIT and Running.

Leanne

Leanne discovered Pilates through injury rehabilitation and quickly fell in love. She saw herself transform and get stronger every time she did a class, so after many years Leanne decided to train to teach and share her passion for the Pilates method.

In addition Leanne enjoys teaching specific pre and postnatal classes and is continuing her studies to gain a more in depth understanding of spinal conditions and women’s pelvic health.

Pete

In 1985, Peter Unsworth gained entry to the renowned Northern Ballet School, here in Manchester. Upon completing his training, in 1988, he began his professional dance career and worked at some of the most famous theatres and cruise ships in the world, reaching the levels of Soloist, Principal Dancer, Dance Captain, Choreographer and Company Manager.

Only after retiring from the world of dance, whilst establishing a successful P.R career and Agency in Cape Town, did he discover the benefits of Pilates and in 2014 he qualified as a BASI Pilates Mat Instructor. Ever hungry to learn more about Pilates and the endless benefits clients can enjoy, he underwent extensive training with the legendary STOTT Lead Instructor Trainer, Lisa Palmer, in Cape Town in all aspects of STOTT Pilates®. Having completed the Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barrels and ZEN•GA® courses, he is a STOTT certified Mat, Reformer, ZEN•GA® & Total Barre Instructor.

Karen

Gaining a wealth of knowledge over the past 40 years, we’re so pleased Karen is a part of the BbodySmart team she loves to share, with new and existing clients, the original and pure approach to Pilates.

Karen’s qualifications include:

– IDTA
– Over 50s
– Dance ballroom Latin and line dancing
– Plus antenatal and postnatal

Claire

Claire’s interest in Pilates started during her dance training. She found pilates complimented her dancing whilst giving her greater mind-body awareness. Pilates improved her posture and helped her to develop strength and a greater range of movement whilst preventing injury. Training as a Pilates Instructor was a natural progression of her dance studies. Claire is enthused and excited at how effective and beneficial Pilates is for EVERYONE from builders to office workers.

Pre and postnatal women to athletes. It is so satisfying to see how clients transform and grow in confidence as they experience their posture change, bodies strengthen as well as recovering from injury. Claire is a big advocate for exercise as a stress and anxiety booster. There is nothing worse than feeling restricted or in pain/ trapped in your own body.

Lorraine

Lorraine started dancing at an early age and trained with Scottish ballet before continuing her training in London at Birds Performing Arts College. 

Pilates has always been a huge part of Lorraine’s life as it compliments dance training very well .She decided to move into teaching when she retired from dancing and qualified in Mat Pilates, Pilates for Orthopaedic Conditions, Pre and Post Natal, Pilates with small equipment, Barre Pilates and Reformer Pilates.

Amy

After attending Pilates classes for so many years I am a firm believer that Pilates is for everyone. Since becoming a trained teacher I’ve witnessed the many benefits Pilates practise can offer, including improving your posture, building core strength and stability, improving your balance and spacial awareness, increased muscle strength and tone. It’s also hugely beneficial for stress management and relaxation. 

As a teacher it’s really important that I keep educating myself to pass on to my attendees and I regularly attend training courses.
